Today’s episode is a special collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County. In this episode, I discuss the program and the effects of the stay-at-home orders with three different individuals involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters here in San Diego. Part one of this episode features a conversation with Lorie Zapf. Lorie is the CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County and a former Councilwoman here in San Diego. Lorie and I spend our time discussing the current state of the program during the lockdown and what the future might hold as we come out of it. Part two is all about the mental health effects of both social isolation and mentorship on children. For part two I speak psychologist Dr. Becca Hadar. And in part three, I speak with current Big Julius Johnson about the specific challenges facing his relationship during lockdown and how he and his little have made the most of an otherwise lousy situation.
